Well, so I got the certificate but I cannot use it...
A website using SSL requires a dedicated IP address. This website does not have a dedicated IP and to get one I need to pay 99 euros.
I think I'll pass...
You shouldn't need a dedicated IP, it's solved by SNI, supported by anything from IE8+ Smile
I'm hosting at Versio and according to their site I need a dedicated IP D: http://www.versio.nl/17-ondersteunen_jul...https.html
Wow the price is expensive..
When i get a vps or anything like that i get trown at with ip's currently ipv6 are free and mostly get like 10..
But i asume you need ipv4 and normaly that would cost like 2,50 usd extra per ip.. that hosting is crazy..
Huh... I get VPS from DigitalOcean so dedi IP and stuff. Any reason why this site isn't on a VPS? I pay $5/mo. for a 512MB ram 20GB disk instance I use for 4 low traffic sites.
It's not on a VPS because this is 10x cheaper. I'm a cheap bastard :p
Isn't a domain name like double what you pay for webhosting?Tongue
Yes, haha
For proper certs, gogetssl.com is the best.
You can get a free one from StartSSL or the free for FOSS provider we talked about earlier.
