I've run into some trouble using chests. I had two stacks of torches in my hotbar's first two slots, I combined them and tried to move them into the chest; the server logged that its window is out of sync and duplicated a few of the torches back into the 1st hotbar slot.

Anyone else run into such behavior?

Perhaps the torches had different metadata

The client wouldn't combine them in such a case.
I'll see if i can replicate, perhaps with a backup world

The client also combines redstone dust with different medata, but the server doesn't. So I expect the same for torches
