I did a fresh checkout & compile and it seems to be working fine now. Username is "Fodah" so that's probably not the problem.

That error means something like a chat string like is printed to you when you first join is over the limit.

It is the exact same error message I got when AnimalsOn=1 was present in settings.ini: https://forum.cuberite.org/showthread.php?tid=385

This is probably fixed since rev 393. Fodah, can you please try any recent revision and confirm? If fixed, please add a "[fixed]" to the post header. Thank you.
