Don't feel bad, it's actually helped us to catch a bug in the mineshafts generator Smile

Please try again with master and with the FixMineshafts branch, hopefully the fix will work even for your huge values (it does work for me).

I'm sorry but I think the terrain generation is still much too smooth. Don't you use simplex noise for terrain generation? Also I think the Japanese village is a good idea, but I think it's a little bit too kitschy and colorful.

The terrain is a 3-octave Perlin noise, there are some adjustments planned but first I'd like to finish the villages.

The Japanese village is a first attempt, now it's time to refine it over and over again until we're happy with it. The colorfulness might also be my texture pack, I'm using green-colored nether bricks, because the default color is too dark for me, I'm slightly shadow-blind.

I'm leaving my dev server online until tomorrow, unless someone crashes it, you can connect and see for yourself: gallery.xoft.cz:3299. Note that the server is in debug mode, so it's slow; it has villages set to generate larger and close to each other.

I like STR's "scarecrows", but I have to tune them down somewhat, this is ridiculous:

Maybe make them only spawn close to crops?

The miners' village is working well enough. I'm leaving my dev server on overnight, if you want to give it a try; I'll probably take it down tomorrow during the day.
