Make the site and forum SSL - bearbin - 08-22-2013 SSL is awesome, and you can get a free cert too (wildcard for extra awesomes) https://www.globalsign.com/ssl/ssl-open-source/ RE: Make the site and forum SSL - FakeTruth - 08-22-2013 Cool, I'll try this RE: Make the site and forum SSL - bearbin - 08-22-2013 Thanks RE: Make the site and forum SSL - xoft - 08-22-2013 I'm more interested in code signing certs, Certum seems to provide those for opensource projects for free, but their site is a mess: http://www.certum.eu/certum/cert,offer_en_open_source_cs.xml RE: Make the site and forum SSL - bearbin - 08-22-2013 Do you need a CA for code signing? It's much easier to just generate one with openssl or gpg. You do need one for websites, otherwise the browsers complain at you though. RE: Make the site and forum SSL - xoft - 08-22-2013 If you have a CA-signed cert for code signing, the OS dialog for "trust this software?" looks a bit better. And it would be cool to have a real signature The OS complains in either case, so that's not the point. RE: Make the site and forum SSL - bearbin - 08-22-2013 Oh yeah, haven't used windows for a while, forgot about that feature. RE: Make the site and forum SSL - FakeTruth - 08-24-2013 Quote:Thank you for submitting an application to receive a free SSL Certificate for your Open Source Project. Your open source project has been approved.yay Well this stuff is super confusing..
