Problems with mobs - ph0sgen - 02-21-2014
Hi Everybody,
I have two problems regarding Mob spawning:
1. No Animals are spawned.
2. Spiders and Creepers do not burn in sunlight
The monster section in the world.ini as well as in the settings.ini looks like this:
[Monsters]
AnimalsOn=1
AnimalSpawnInterval=20
Types=Spider,Chicken,Cow,Pig,Sheep,Squid,Enderman,Cavespider,Creeper,Skeleton,Slime,Spider,Zombie
Furthermore, most of the Mobs are spawned inside the water and not on land.
Is there any more configuration I need to do to achieve correct spawning or is there any other workaround?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
1: Unfinished terrain generator, animals should be generated with the terrain, they spawn on their own only very rarely.
2: They don't burn in vanilla either, this is by design.

This means, that animals are mostly created on new chunks? and have just a very low probability to be created at run time?

They should be created on new chunks, but aren't yet, because the generator is not finished in this way.

Since it's the same server, I'll ask in here: I spawned two cows using a spawn egg in creative and then tried to breed them in survival. That didn't work, it probably hasn't been implemented, either?
