RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - xoft - 09-22-2014 Finally an explanation that is understandable even for me: http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/2fkz55/as_one_of_the_original_contributors_to_bukkit/ RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - Antwns - 11-16-2014 It has to do with realms. I know this makes mojang seems bad but... It's just another way to push people to buy realms instead of other server hosts with "foreign" server platforms is my oppinion RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - tonibm19 - 11-16-2014 Spigot has confirmed 1.8 update. See spigot website. RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - tonibm19 - 12-02-2014 So, Spigot won SpongePowered and we finally have Bukkit, CraftBukkit and Spigot for 1.8. See http://www.spigotmc.org/threads/bukkit-craftbukkit-spigot-1-8.36598/ RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - Seadragon91 - 12-02-2014 (12-02-2014, 04:02 AM)tonibm19 Wrote: So, Spigot won SpongePowered and we finally have Bukkit, CraftBukkit and Spigot for 1.8. I see that they provide the source code, but no compiled jars, are they now bypass the dmca by doing that? RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - xoft - 12-02-2014 They're forcing their devs to sign a legal document stating that they give their contributions to the project and the project can relicense their code. Seems like a bad idea to me, there's nothing stopping the project to stop being open-source and start being paid, with the previous work being relicensed. On the other hand, it makes the license changes simple, I know how we struggled when we were considering a change to another open-source license. RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - Pentium44 - 12-16-2014 Oh damn, looks as if MCServer will grow a great deal RE: DMCA takedown - bukkit - LO1ZB - 12-16-2014 (12-16-2014, 03:27 PM)Pentium44 Wrote: Oh damn, looks as if MCServer will grow a great deal Yes, there is no 100% legal solution other than MCServer that is somewhat functional. You have to patch an Old version of Spigot to get one for 1.8.x and Sponge isn't even near to be use able. And Glowstone is missing more functions than MCServer, too. |
