"Getting Started" page - LogicParrot - 05-18-2015 Someone is brand new here. And I realized that I didn't have a ready-to-send link that I could just posted and say "here, all the info you need to get started can be found here". I'm willing to write a "Getting started" page. What do you think? what should it include? where should it be hosted (I think it should be on mc-server.org) I could just overhaul the Wiki Homepage RE: "Getting Started" page - bearbin - 05-18-2015 We sort of have one already. https://github.com/mc-server/MCServer/blob/master/GETTING-STARTED.md You could improve that and set up a few links to it. RE: "Getting Started" page - LogicParrot - 05-18-2015 Honestly, I never visited the Wiki before, and it's alright. I'll just add missing bits when I find them. RE: "Getting Started" page - bearbin - 05-18-2015 Ah, we should get one. The book.mc-server.org seems like a fairly good getting started guide already, so more work there could work. RE: "Getting Started" page - sphinxc0re - 05-18-2015 How about an article on the wiki? RE: "Getting Started" page - LogicParrot - 05-18-2015 (A continuation to the IRC chat we had) I see both of your points. I think I agree with Bearbin and that the Wiki and Book can co-exist. The book would actually serve as the "Getting started page", the Wiki would have all the rest. |
