Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - LO1ZB - 07-05-2015 Mojang is going to release a Universal App edition of Minecraft Pocket Edition together with windows 10 on July 29. It will be using DX11. It will be free for everyone who already owns Minecraft (Java) Source: https://mojang.com/2015/07/announcing-minecraft-windows-10-edition-beta/ Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/3c3e5m/announcing_minecraft_windows_10_edition_beta/ RE: Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - DiamondToaster - 07-05-2015 I wonder why Mojang/Microsoft never ported the PC version to other platforms instead of making new versions from scratch. The fragmentation makes their efforts somewhat pointless as almost everyone will remain on the Java version anyways, not to mention that no one will care for the 3D rendering code rewrite since that kills possibility of incredible things like the GLSL shaders mod. I'm seriously wondering where Microsoft is coming from. RE: Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - tonibm19 - 07-05-2015 Wow Local multiplayer and crossplay with MCPE Dorectx12 is missing, but anyway, if it has splitscreen, i will download for sure RE: Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - NiLSPACE - 07-05-2015 I'm really curious about this, and the performance. I'm wondering if we can somehow add the protocol. Did the pocket edition have a limited world, or unlimited world like the normal minecraft? If not, then we have to figure out how we could fix that. Im still dreaming of an universal server RE: Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - DiamondToaster - 07-06-2015 I believe MCPE had a limited world of 256*256*128. Not too sure though, last time I played it, it seemed super small. It has no Invisible Bedrock boundaries, so can be explored almost infinitely. " RE: Minecraft (Pocket Edition): Windows 10 Edition Beta - DiamondToaster - 07-06-2015 Ah, they did eventually add that in. Nice to know.
