I think you can fix it by changing the server id in settings.ini

http://mc.kev009.com/Protocol
Quote:Client gives invalid server key when authentication hash is 8 bytes and the first byte is > 0x80

The default server ID is MCServer I think, which is 8 bytesTongue I'm not completely sure about this though

I think the same message appears when you join an old server with the 1.0.0 client and r179 is an old serverBig Grin

You can get a very incomplete 1.0.0 package at google code Wink
http://code.google.com/p/mc-server/downloads/detail?name=MC-Server%201.0.0.rar&can=2&q=#makechanges

You could try that Wink

RE: The server responded with an invaild server key - mtilden - 12-25-2011

I'm working on a fixed solution for this where you can use authentication in MCServer, so far I can get it to work manually but I need to find the automated solution.

This is fixed in the latest SVN revision (107)
