From my perspective as a developer, these are the important characteristics.

* Open source.
* C++
* Lua plugins are much easier than java.

From a user's perspective?

* Faster than vanilla.

Cuberite: Minecraft done right.
Cuberite: Performant Minecraft server
Cuberite: Minecraft but without those performance issues

Sales talk:
Tired of struggling with those slow Minecraft servers? Then now for only € 0,00 we preset Cuberite. This beast will allow you to run a Minecraft server on even the slowest of devices. Even a Rasberri Pi 1B works fine.
