How do I get my server's IP address? - wyatt_h - 07-17-2017

I tried using my computer's IP, but my friends couldn't get on. Does anyone know how to get the server's IP?!

You need the public IP of your router and need to forward the port 25565 to your PC. This page contains many infos
https://portforward.com/

Do I have to connect from my computer using localhost or can I use the IP I found too?

I just tested it with the IP and it turns out, the only thing we found was that it was the same ip we had before and even with the port forward, my friends couldnt get on

Maybe a firewall problem. If you use the debug build do you see any output?
Another idea disable authentication in settings.ini by changing Authentication to 0.

We fixed the issue. I was forwarding it to the wrong port!

OK, I got it working so I can join the serer with the IP, but my friends still can't get on. the exact line it says for them is

Failed to connect to the server

channel.AbtractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection
timed out: no further information:
