Plugin would be quite impossible, because it cannot know if a chunk is loaded from the Anvil or generated by the server.

I decided to write a little utility for this. It will be capable of doing all kinds of statistics, including block density and dungeon density.

is it normal that the patch for the underground gravel and dirt is included in r898? if not, it happened in r881.

Yeah, I accidentally committed it. It's not as good as it could have been, but it's better than nothing Wink

i have the feeling that all the vines in jungles is some kind of finisher.

RE: Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation - xoft - 10-01-2012

No, actually the vines are part of the tree on which they're hanging.

RE: Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation - NiLSPACE - 10-01-2012

but the vines in caves?

RE: Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation - xoft - 10-01-2012

We don't have vines in caves yet. But they can be made in a new finisher.

RE: Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation - NiLSPACE - 10-01-2012

with that finisher you could also delete the vines in trees becouse i think the leaves will be much nicer then.

RE: Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation - xoft - 10-01-2012

I don't think so. The cave-vines finisher will have to be very specific: "if the biome is jungle or jungle hills and the block next to me is stone and there is stone somewhere above me". That's quite incompatible with a tree vines finisher idea. Also, why not keep the vines on the trees - that way when we implement growing jungle trees from 2x2 saplings, those grown trees will have vines as well.

thats true but if we would have vines on the logs the vines would go down until it can't go down anymore.
