They do have a habit of fixing most of his major vanilla bugs, but they can't really affect performance as much as one would like.

Yeahhh...bukkit is great when compared to vanilla minecraft, but it is still very much based on notch's code.

Well, from what faketruth has said, you can't commit to the google code project unless he adds you to it. You can submit a pull request on the github page though.

I would personally prefer to have github be the official location, as most open source projects are moving away from google code towards github because of its superior support for that kind of project...

Excellent! I'm glad to see that opensourcing has been good for mcserver :D I'll be working on some little things myself, probably, although I am on a bit of a downswing in regards to minecraft interes...
