That error means something like a chat string like is printed to you when you first join is over the limit. |

I had a bug like this before where someone would join and it would add them to admins and it was a 3rd party plugin that was causing it, just can't remember exactly off-hand now as it's been some mont... |

I was originally compiling on Ubuntu 11.10 and all you should have to do is simply type make in the directory you checked out into. |

You can feel free to stay up to date on revisions on the SVN but I'd always keep a working stable copy and just overwrite the binary (and possibly any changed files like the webserver stuff or setting... |

If you pay attention to the Google Code project page, you'll notice lots of commits coming in all the time on the SVN version.
MC-Server is still beta, so there's sure to be bug... |

You're right that the whole of the server logic isn't threaded at this point but it IS something to look forward to and possibly with a configuration option so people can use all available threads or ... |
