I guess doing something like this in lua with a decent speed is not possible. Well, maybe witj luajit but not right now. I prefeare lua to c++ and I would continue using lua. But c++ would give unlimited possibities (like if you were directly modifying the server) to people with enough experience.

I believe STR already coded something like the Tornado command from the Catastrophes plugin, and I see no reason why Lua wouldn't be fast enough for these.

Yes, though it could be optimized quite a bit
But toni, that's for GCC 5.x (which isn't even released yet). not every platform will have support for it. And since it's so new I doubt Windows has it.
