How to prevent this problem on the server?

The server log is filling up with this, even when nobody is playing. What is happening here? If this is some animal spawning in a bad place, how do I stop it?

Basically, chunks aren't being loaded fast enough to keep up with the entities being spawned, like leaves to sapling drops, most likely due to scheduled chunk unloading in NoChunkFall. I'll probably look into it and patch it.

I'm not using NoChunkFall at the moment since you said I shouldn't ... I still get these messages like, all the time now.

Could you install the PerfPages plugin and post a screenshot of the chunk count graph? I'm wondering if this is caused by chunks being loaded further and further away.

I'll do that tomorrow morning.

And yes, I must sadly say, I did notice a strong decrease in chunk loading performance a while ago. It takes up to 30 seconds for the world to be loaded when I spawn. That was *not* the case two or three weeks ago. I blamed the SD card writing everything in random order....

Plus I get this when I stop the server now, every time:

Code:

I made the PerfPages screenshots, but to me, it's obvious now that something is massively slower in chunk loading performance now than it was a few weeks ago.
As a result, I downgraded my server to an early version in June, because, once I connect there, a second later I see the entire world.

ALSO -- I think this decrease in Chunk loading performance might be the reason why people constantly die when trying to enter/leave the Nether in my world. The world loads so darn slow that they just clip into blocks below them, and might even fall through the bottom of the world before the chunks are here.

But don't take my word for it, just look at this:
New version first, old (faster) version second, both new started with no players connected whatsoever.

Recent version: Jenkins July 19th, build #94

Older version: Jenkins June 9th, build #61

Maybe your SD card in your Raspberry Pi 2 is just too slow for a world of that size? Try decreasing the DefaultViewDistance value in the settings.ini file.

Maybe... I have nothing to compare it to, but the change was rather sudden. Somehow, I have the feeling that it's something else, but it sure *feels* like the SD is too slow. Thing is, it wasn't, the whole time, and you only ever load portions of the world, and it's not just one big, ever growing file.

Also, this whole entity is lost thing only started days ago. The world wasn't growing that much then, it was just me and another player, who was near spawn.

Well, if it doesn't happen too often, it's not really anything serious, I get these same messages occasionally. Otherwise, maybe I could write a logger program that shows exactly where the entities failed to spawn?
