Cuberite Name Change Implementation Plan
#1
I have drawn up a document planning what needs to be done pertaining to the name change:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/17Yzp...sp=sharing

Please suggest edits if you can think of more things that need to be done or if you want to volunteer to do a section.

I will create another thread about the new Cuberite brand.

"New design for the forum reflecting the Cuberite brand."

I'm against this, unless we get a good, clean design. Currently the forum is really clean and organized. Especially if you compare it to other forums like Mineserver or Minetest.

"(Move the forum away from hosting controlled by FakeTruth, to ensure that active contributors have more control over the forum.)"
We never needed more control, so why would this be needed? I'm sorry, but this just feels like taking someones project away from him (even though he isn't active anymore).

Because at the moment if we need to change something, we can't easily, because FakeTruth is inactive.

I also feel that the design of the other two forums you linked are slightly better - they are very similar in design but have more information density which is always a good thing.

I dissagree, but whatever :|

If we're gonna change design, then how about these:

Out of those, the elegant theme is nicest for me, but this discussion should really go in the other thread, and after we've decided on a brand identity.

I log my dissatisfaction with name changes.

I'm going to have to agree with NiLSPACE here. I always liked the current design of these forums because they look more modern and are easy on the eyes. The other 2 look old, outdated, and can be much harsher on the eyes. This is why I always had a preference for blended and darkened colors rather than bright defined colors. Easier to look at.

The forum design is really negligible in the grand scheme of name-changing. Perhaps you should discuss that in a different topic?

Yes, it's really part of the design change thread, and even then we should only discuss it after a brand identity is decided.

This may have been stated implicitly but I thought I should mention it:
I think all assets should be under 1 domain. Currently we have too much fragmentation.
http://mc-server.org/
http://cuberite.org/
http://mc-server.xoft.cz/LuaAPI/
https://github.com/mc-server/MCServer/wiki
(And there's the new buildserver urls which I lost.)

I would have added this in the docs but something is messed up with my browser.
