It won't help swing_dude, as he's not building for a different processor but yes tiger should use -DCROSS_COMPILE in his builds.

But if swing_dudes mac has an older processor, won't building without -DCROSS_COMPILE=1 cause there to be incompatible instructions included?

Not if he building on the machine he's running on. We target the machine were building on. Not the most recent one. The problem is if theres an age discrepancy between the build machine and the machine it runs on.

No, but he was using tiger's builds, from a different mac.


Edit: Maybe you're confused. I was responding to SamJBarney when he said he might compile it for swing, saying that if he did he should use the flag.

It would mean that you can't use any commands, as commands are handled by the Core plugin.

Okay, when I'm back at school I'll recompile the builds with the compiler flag mentioned and post back here. I apologise for my derpiness.
