Mac Builds

That would be awesome although the development would be getting much more difficult than before, wouldn't it?

Why would it? We already write code that works on both Windows and Linux, and it worked on Mac a few months back; there should be very little or no problems at all adding the builds.

But aren't the architectures of Mac OS and Linux a little different?

Not as much as Linux vs Windows.

Okay. But are you sure that you are able to run this service for ever?

Even worse, my company is rather paranoid about access to its networks - imagine the bad press if source code to a virus scanner leaked - so I don't think I will be able to even start it there.

So it got me thinking if it was possible to install OS X under a VirtualBox - I could keep an instance running on my home server. It seems that this is possible, but it means a lot of hackery; my initial attempt has failed; perhaps someone else might be more successful.

Here is a tutorial for setting up a OS X based vagrant box:

I tried installing Niresh into virtualbox, but it wouldn't get past the initial text-mode boot menu. Also, I'm not too happy about using a pirated OS, those are quite likely to have malware in them.

I used to have a fully working Mac OSX 10.9 Virtualbox instance, but I wiped my drive a few days ago and put Ubuntu on it. Sad
