Help please

I am a noob at this I guess. So I was wondering how do you start the server. When I start MCServer it opens a command prompt, says stuff, then it does nothing. Am I missing something? What else am I supposed to do? Oh yea, and I'm running windows.

To help diagnose this, create a new file in your mc-server directory, name it start.bat and type:

pause

save it, then double click it
