I use 1.8.2 (because of LiteLoader and WorldEditCUI). But they say 1.8.8 hasn't changed protocol-wise, so it should work okay.

Oh man this will be a pain in the arse, when the new update comes. We still need to implement the 1.7 biomes

Maybe, it's also possible that most things are handled client-side, and "all" we have to do is check if the guy is cheating or not.

The cheating detection is actually more difficult than handling it server-side. Because it basically means handling everything server-side and then implementing some forms of checks and epsilons for how far away from our calculated values the client can be before we call it cheating.

Yeah, I know, but what I meant is that flying most likely already works when we get the 1.9 protocol working.

What is bottle-necking the biomes milestone? Does anyone know?

I think nobody is working on it because there are more important things that need some care.

The chunk generation in the snapshoots runs much better then in 1.8.8. The mojang team did there very good improvements on client and server side.

I am able to set the chunk view distance to 32 and have good fps valuesBig Grin
In 1.8.8 I have lags and the client would freeze.
