After further investigation it appears that #1969 will only trigger if the client disconnects before the first tick after connecting to the world. That's a 50 ms window.

After using IRC for a while, I find myself preferring the forum
- It's true async.
- There's far less chitchat, therefore far less noise, therefore it's much faster and easier to catch up with the main points. Each post is a main point.
