The license is still applied, but you are technically violating the contrbutor's copyright by distributing it. So it's generally a good idea to say what the license is and provide a copy.

Do you think the apache 2.0 license suits MCServer? I can still change it on googlecode (though I'm not sure that's legal)

If you want to use Apache 2.0 It's good to read it, who knows what's written there?

It seems a nice license, and it would be a huge hassle to change it - getting everybody that has ever contributed to relicense their contributions (if you wanted the whole project to have one license).
I personally prefer the MIT and BSD licenses but I don't really mind as long as it's sensible. |
