"Using your OS's tools, make the default world's "region" folder a hardlink (Win: Junction) to the other world's "region" folder"

Would someone mind explaining this step in detail? Sorry for the newb question. I don't understand how to make the default world and the second world correlate like has been described, but it seems like a handy way to set up.
