For those who are tired of digging, I present the new Quarry plugin.
In order for a quarry to work, you need to:
1). Build a fence of nether brick fence ranging in size from 7x7 to 34x34 blocks.
2). Install the chest next to the fence
3). Install a plaque on top of the chest with the inscription in the first line: [quarry]
4). Connect the redstone signal to the chest.
5). Enjoy
