Tigerw I noticed that you were updating the libraries. Is it needed? It works fine as it is now right? Why would you take risks of it being not compatible.

Not only is it not needed, it is sometimes the reason why merge cannot be performed automatically by GitHub.

Why would something in a branch affect merges to master?

When you update a branch and then update another branch to another commit, then merging one branch makes the other branch unmergable. Also if someone just updates the master, the branch conflicts, as well.
