In the end I found out that it's not the chat messages, but rather mobs. The current code already handles mob-less worlds nicely.

I recognized, that there are still a few repositories in the mc-server organization on Github. Someone should move them over, so we have everything in one place. @bearbin , @NiLSPACE , @xoft unfortunately, I don't have access to the organization anymore otherwise, I would do it myself

An update is planned, but it will really require reinstalling the system so it might be a while.
