I'd like to explore the possibilities first. I quite like the last one in #49, although I think I'd like it even more without the gear. It has a great clean simplicity, I have no trouble whatsoever imagining this as a program icon (unlike some of the other creations here).

EDIT: Wow, the piston thing looks cool, too. But compared to the SphinxC0re's ones, it is kinda "noisy".

Yeah, the piston is a bit "noisy." Perhaps redstone would be better. I'll reskin it to a redstone block.

You could create a schematic and use your schematic to png program.

My personal preference is a logo like the attached one (only a small preview, inspired by SphinxC0re's contributions)

It's not really grass ... ontop, but ... well the QR code for www.cuberite.org is the texture.
