Some semi-random thoughts on terrain generation
Okay, thanks, both of you. I think I have a pretty good idea about this issue. However, I'm inclined to postpone it now. Does it happen really that often that it should be considered critical?
The fix would require quite a lot of protocol hackery and I'm not sure I'm sane enough to do that now - I've run out of chocolate, so my blood sugar's lowTongue

I don't like them, but I don't like sandy swampland more, so I'm working on a Biomal composition generator.
Biomal CompositionGen done in Rev 542. The terrain generated by MCS is finally starting to look appealing Smile

The "Too many packets" is a pretty bad issue for me. I connect, the nearest chunks to me load visually, then immediately the server console is flooded with too many packets error.

Running this on Ubuntu 11.10 Server Edition, MC-Server Rev. 563 compiled with `make release=1` from Google Code SVN.
(FYI Running Vanilla 1.2.5 Client freshly downloaded from the official Minecraft.net servers.)

Edit: I should note I'm running my MC client from OS X, if that makes a difference.

I have set the default generator (if the world.ini file doesn't exist) to the best current generators available: DistortedVoronoi + Biomal + Biomal + all structures + all finishers

i know another "bug". there is no long grass generated in plains biome.
and maybe can you also create a Change of biome spawn becouse there is too many muchroom biome.
