Really? Because for me it's about half the speed of the regular terrain (both in Debug mode). Did you use BottomLava finisher set to 30? I'm starting to feel that the fluid simulators are throttling the generators, so if too much fluid is generated, the generator performance drops as well.
In vanilla, soulsand generates a bit differently than orenests, it's making a thin layer over large areas instead. I think I'll come up with something reasonably similar.
However, I'm more missing the lava springs, the glowstone and especially the roof of the level being entirely covered in netherrack.
I'll make a new AnvilStats module for counting lava- and water-spring frequencies, but I'd need someone to generate a rather huge Nether world to run the scan on. I've got only a huge Overworld level (50 GiB, ~50.000 x 50.000 blocks), but I don't have the machinepower to generate another one for the Nether. Any volunteers?
