Wait, why are you and your friend even "fighting" for the areas? Only trusted users should have the permission to create areas. You don't want griefers running around and protecting their creations.
Still, the bug seems valid, I will test it out.

No, currently the two plugins don't talk to each other. Make an issue on the GitHub page.
