I'm more interested in code signing certs, Certum seems to provide those for opensource projects for free, but their site is a mess: http://www.certum.eu/certum/cert,offer_e...rce_cs.xml

Do you need a CA for code signing? It's much easier to just generate one with openssl or gpg. You do need one for websites, otherwise the browsers complain at you though.

If you have a CA-signed cert for code signing, the OS dialog for "trust this software?" looks a bit better. And it would be cool to have a real signature Smile The OS complains in either case, so that's not the point.
