Do you have anything to lose if you join? Smile

In the end I decided not to. I finally saw the requirements for the race and I chickened out. It seems the race will be quite a high-profile event, they'll be pre-selecting pilots who can enter based on their previous results and videos, they have some international pilots coming. And I don't have the required equipment - my video system is too powerful (600mW instead of their required 25 mW) and I don't have all the LEDs they require (at least 24 LEDs with changeable color, each side of each arm needs light). They also wrote that the track will be very difficult (and I've seen the venue, the ceiling is really low). All in all, I'd pretty sure end up smashing someone else's pricey quadcopter to pieces. Or my own not-that-pricey-but-still-not-cheap one.

I'll go there as a spectator and try to fish for contacts for the community, so that I can join them gradually.

The race was really great, I'm so glad I went there even as a spectator. I found out one of the groups leases a school gym three blocks away from where I live during winter, so that they could train there when the weather is bad; I'll try to join them Smile

The race was really intense:

The guys were even so nice that they let me try out their track in between the races, while the contestants were resting or fixing their quads. So for comparison, here's my poor attempt:

How can they keep track of the race and not crashing at the same time!

I've bought a new smartphone this week, this time with Android, and I've just tried Cuberite on it. I'm honestly pretty impressed how well Cuberite performs on it. World generation can easily keep up and the whole experience is really smooth. One thing I did notice however is that the console on Android is always one step behind. If I execute a command I only see the result logged until I execute another command at which the cycle repeats.

This is so spot on!

That's pretty relatable yeah.

Yeah it is.... I on the other hand have been idling in here for quite a long time, would like to help but minecraft seems so ominous to me.... (and i don't know where to start with understanding it)

I could improve android, but again there were discussions over discussions until I just did something, and then there was this change in the Google guidelines and now I don't want to do something that lacks approval from the rest of the team and is finally rejected by Google.
