Yeah, merry Christmas!

@tigerw it's been a long time since you came here the last time..... Are you gonna work a little bit more on cuberite or just hang around in the forums?

While Android certainly has improved in recent years (enjoying Android Oreo at the moment), there's just something about Windows Phone 8/8.1 that I miss. The minimalist, unique UI combined with the beautiful design of Nokia Lumia phones really looked great.

The OS and most apps still work fairly well in 2017, although some apps are starting to fall apart and crash due to third-party APIs shutting down. Still, Windows Phone feels refreshing to use, and apps for most services still exist. I just wish Windows Phone wasn't abandoned like some other good OSes (MeeGo Sad).

WP 8.1 might be out of support, but why not update?

For example, this Lumia 1020 (unveiled 2013) runs Windows 10 fine:

I used Windows 10 Mobile a few times before, but I didn't like the direction Microsoft went in. Nowadays I barely use Windows Phone/Mobile anyway.

I would certainly hope so; despite university the spectre of all my unfinished PRs here is hanging in the back of my mind like some poor imitation of the Ghost of Christmas Past or something.

Don't fret!

I'm the meantime, I've been doing some cool stuff with my new phone.

For example, when I turn the phone around, its fingerprint sensor is connected to my laptop. Tap to lock. Tap to unlock. But of course, just with my fingerprint.

Finally managed to update BIOS and Intel ME on a computer with Linux. I don't ever want to touch an update from HP again (thanks for non-existent instructions).
